Life in this day and age has become busier than ever before. Activities are jam packed into each day and each week, and sometimes people do not know whether they are coming or going. Many other protein-based foods contain tryptophan, but turkey is a healthy way to get that amino acid into your diet. 2) Chamomile - The chamomile flower has many medicinal uses, but the most popular use of this small daisylike flower is for making relaxation tea. This flower is edible, and can be ingested in tablet form, capsule, liquid extract or in tea. 3) Warm Milk - Many men and women, if asked, can remember their parents giving them a glass of warm milk before lying down for sleep. There was a good reason they did this. Milk contains tryptophan, a similar type as found in turkey, which helps an individual to successfully combat sleep deprivation and insomnia. It soothes the body and relaxes the mind. 4) Dark Chocolate - So many people love chocolate because it makes them feel so good. There is actually evidence showing that chocolate releases endorphins to the brain, providing the body with pleasurable sensations. Chocolate also contains a small mount of tryptophan that helps to create serotonin in the body. 5) Bananas - These powerhouses of potassium and energy also assist with relaxation. Potassium is a natural blood pressure regulator. Adding bananas to the meal not only increases health, it also brings stress levels down naturally. Next time stress becomes overwhelming, pull out one of these healthy foods to relieve that high stress level. The body will be so thankful.
