About 'liquid multi vitamin'|Liquid Nutrition Vitamins Facts
Several weeks ago I visited a licensed massage therapist, (it was a gift certificate from one of my daycare families), and that visit has been a God send. I have been dealing with some nerve damage in my legs, and dealing with pain and burning. Much of it has gone away, but my right leg is still giving me fits from time to time. During my 90 minute massage, I learned so much from this therapist about nutrition! She told me that often times when I feel that burning sensation in the muscle, it is related to nutritional deficiencies. She put me on a regimen of vitamins, including B12, Magnesium, Calcium, Potassium, and a liquid multi vitamin. She highly recommended the NOW brand of vitamins, which I could only find at a local health food store/nutrition center. NOW Liquid Multi Vitamin & Mineral This product comes in a dark brown bottle, with a bright orange label. The brand name "NOW" has a sun inside the letter "O". It contains 16 fluid ounces, and has a small pointed spout in the cap that pulls up so you can squirt the supplements into a tablespoon. The label says: * Iron-Free * Sweetened with \Xylitol * High Potency - Fast Absorption * Added phytonutrients * Stabilized with Rice Protein * Vegetarian Formula * GMP Quality Assured * Tropical Orange Flavor What It Does Not Contain Salt, starch, yeast, wheat, gluten, milk, egg, or artificial colors or flavors. My Thoughts I have taken liquid vitamins from Awareness in the past, and while I loved the ingredients, it tasted so sweet I could hardly gag it down every morning. NOW Liquid Vitamin & Mineral formula has a nice orange flavor, it reminds me of orange flavored baby aspirin. It's quite thick, and while I can see what I would describe as an extremely thin pulp, it's very smooth with no grittiness to it. The product is quite thick, yet pours out easily from the spout. After opening, it needs to be stored in the refrigerator, and you do need to shake it up well each time you take it. The back label reads: This unique formula utilizes brown rice protein as a stabilizing agent for maximum bioavilability of the vitamins, minerals and phytonutrients. Although my massage therapist recommended the NOW brand of vitamins, she actually suggested a different brand of liquid vitamins. The man who owns the health food store where this was purchased has been in business for years and is a wealth of information. He said he takes the NOW brand and recommended it over the other (which was really a children's liquid vitamin). It's clear while reading the ingredients that this product contains actual food and they get many of their supplements from food as well. That was a nice surprise! It helped soften the blow of the high price, which was $17.99, and this will only last me one month. I feel that is a bit expensive, so I started looking for this product online, and found it much cheaper ... now I only have to figure in the shipping costs to see if that is a viable option for me. After using these vitamins for a few weeks, I can say I am quite happy with them. They contain a lot of the B Vitamins, and do give me extra energy without feeling jittery. The other liquid vitamins I used to take occasionally upset my stomach, but the NOW brand has not done so, although I do take them with a bowl of cereal every morning. I love the naturalness of the NOW Liquid Vitamins & Minerals. This product is naturally sweetened, and thickened with vegetable glycerine. The suggested dose is one tablespoon one to two times a day, but I only take this in the morning, which seems to be adequate, since I am getting other supplements on the side. The companies website is listed on the bottle, and after visiting it, I found and interesting warning that says not to feed this to pets, because although Xylitol is safe for people, it's harmful to dogs. I know people who give their pets human medication, so I really wish they would have put this on the bottle. I'm very pleased with the taste and performance of NOW Liquid Multi Vitamins and Minerals, I only hope to be able to find it at a more affordable price. I am used to buying multiple vitamins in pill form, and my large bottles usually last me several months, so this is a change for me. Still, I love the thought of liquid vitamins, as I have enough other pills to swallow and I don't really enjoy swallowing pills. I also feel that the liquid form will allow it to be absorbed by my body extremely well. A doctor once told me that when he reads his patients x-rays, he often sees whole vitamin pills that have passed through the body without even being broken down and absorbed! He told me about the acid test, where you put your pills in a little bit of vinegar (which mimics the stomachs acidity), and if they haven't started to dissolve in 30 minutes, they aren't doing the body much good. With liquid vitamins I don't have to worry about that! To conclude, I really do like NOW Multi Vitamin & Minerals, and highly recommend it if you are looking for a good liquid vitamin.
